About Return Policies

Every time a sale is made there is an agreement between the buyer and the seller. Generally you, the buyer, agree to pay for the item, and you have a right to assume that the product is not defective and that its use has not been falsely advertised. A store is not obligated to accept items for refund, exchange, or credit except in cases where the item is defective or was misrepresented. Some stores have "no return" or "final sale" policies, and in some states, stores are required by law to disclose clearly what their return policies are.

Before making a purchase at any store, be sure to ask the following questions:

bulletMay I return the item and buy something else?
bulletWill the store give me my money back if I make a return?
bulletIs this a "final sale" item?
bulletIf the purchase is made under a written contract, how are normal return privileges affected?
bulletIf the product has a separate written warranty, does this warranty affect the means by which I can return it?

About Refunds

A customer’s money is returned under a refund policy. Stores that offer refunds as a policy do so voluntarily and, in most cases, are not compelled by state or federal law to do so. These policies usually require that products be returned to a store within a specific period of time and in original purchase condition. In almost every case, a sales slip or some other evidence that the item was actually purchased at a particular store is also required. If a customer does not have evidence of purchase, he or she may not receive a refund or may not receive the full amount of the purchase price. In some stores, all sales are final. This policy is typically enforced for goods which are on sale, sold at the end of a season, used as floor models, or are of an intimate nature, such as undergarments and bathing suits.

Our Return Policy

We want you to be happy with your purchase!  If we make a mistake, please call or write so we can make it right for you!  Otherwise, all sales are final.

Breast Pump Warranties:  

According to Medela's and Ameda's manufacturer policies, breast pumps must be unopened and unused when returned. This is due to their personal nature. Please contact Medela customer service at 888-633-3528 for breast pump warranty claims if you have a problem once your Medela breast pump is opened. Because of the manufacturers policy, you will be referred to them about all opened breast pumps. If you return a breast pump after it has been opened, no refund will be made. It can be shipped back to you at your request. You will be charged shipping charges to have it returned to you.

Electronics Warranties:

All electronics sold by us are purchased through our electronics distributor.  All electronics sales are final.  Occasionally, there may be a problem with your electronics purchase and we encourage you to contact the electronics product manufacturer for all warranty claims.  

Why do we have a return and refund policy that is so strict?  

I'm quite frank about it. You might be used to dealing with huge mainstream mail-order firms like who guarantee satisfaction or your money back.  Don't expect small businesses or vendors run entirely by the owner to be able to do the same in every case.

When you return an item, you cause a lot of cost and hassle for the vendor. They have to examine your receipt and verify that you indeed purchased the product from them, so that they don't send you a "refund" for a product you bought elsewhere. They have to examine the returned item to make sure it's still in unused condition. They have to adjust their accounting records to show that the item was returned so that they don't have to cover the cost of income tax or sales tax on the transaction. They lose money on the cost of the postage and shipping materials they used to send you the original article. If they sell one-of-a-kind antique items, they may have to add them back into the catalog on their web site, which they may have to pay a webmaster to do for them. If you paid by check, they have to verify that your check did clear through the bank, just in case you wrote them a bad check for the original purchase. If you paid by credit card, they'll lose money because the credit card company charges for every transaction, including your original payment and then your refund. You get the idea.

All of this is very time-consuming and expensive for the vendor. The small businesses can't afford to pay the price for a customer's indecisiveness or laziness. So please try to be fair to them - you as a customer have a responsibility to be ethical and courteous, too.
